Afternoon, Total Recoil!

For those of you who don't know, we have a competition team here at Total Recoil. TxR is a casual outfit at heart, but we like to dip our fingers in everyone's pie, so from time to time we put some effort into the competitive scene.

The purpose of the comp team is to offer access to the competitive scene for folks who didn't want to have to quit their jobs and beg for donations on twitch just to feed themselves through their training schedule. Traditionally we do pretty well. We have some fun, we get to meet a lot of good people, and we get our outfit a little more recognition in the process.

Total Recoil's Competitive Team is OPEN to all members of TxR. Like any other specialty division we have some participation requirements, but if you are looking to get in on the competitive scene, learn some new skills, or just want to try out something different then TxR's Comp Team might be for you.

We're coming out of the first season of Farmer's League and we'll be starting a new training cycle immediately. If you would like to be a part of the team, we'd love to have you.

Stop by the Comp Team section of the forums, or get with me or another player with a golden gun badge on TS and get some details.

We often get access to Jaeger, a semi-private developer server that uses the Live Client (normal PS2 install), but sometimes we use the Test server as a backup so we ask that you have that installed and updated in case it is needed.

We don't care about KDR, there are no level requirements and you aren't going to have to 1v1 anyone to prove how awesome you are. We're just looking for folks who can show up on schedule and on time for practice and do it with a positive attitude.

Comp Team is definitely more work than casual play. We aren't hardcore MLGPROs, but winning is nice and learning to win takes some work. In my experience, though, it pays off with a lot of fun.

So, if this sounds like it might be your thing, check the events calendar for practice nights and times and introduce yourself to the comp team members so we know to look for you and be ready for you.

Consider this competitive scene to be the dark souls of planetside. You're going to die, a lot. But after every death you have the option to learn and improve, or shrug and say "they're just better than me, I'm not supposed to beat them".

Also like in Dark Souls, some of the bad guys look normal at first, but the more they reveal of themselves, the more they actually resemble weeping, toothy vaginas.

Atron! What a horrible thing to say! Recursion is a quality outfit full of great people some of whom might even have a sense of humor occasionally. What on earth gave you the idea that Sayl might have something in common with a weepy vagina?

At the end of the day, they aren't all that different from us. If we hadn't lost that close game to Dred, why, they wouldn't even be that much higher than us in the play-off standings. We're practically sister outfits.

Let's all remember that they consider themselves the new kids on the block and they are still trying to find their place in the competitive community. Right now that place is a solid 4th. If this were the special Olympics we'd both be getting the same participation ribbon! But don't forget they are better than us. Know your place you filthy casual!
